Piles are inflamed and swollen collections of tissue in the anal area. They can have a range of sizes, and they may be internal or external. Anyone at any age can be affected by piles. They are very common, with about 50% of people experiencing them at some time in their life. However, they are usually more common in elderly people and during pregnancy. Obesity, constipation, overindulgence in intercourse, suppressing urges, leading a sedentary lifestyle, excessive physical strain, consuming non-vegetarian food, alcohol, cold, heavy, uncooked or spicy foods are some known causes of Piles. Piles is a common painful problem which has been compared to ‘an enemy’ in Ayurveda, hence the name Arsh. The disease manifests in two forms – dry or bleeding piles Ignoring Piles and for the lack of proper treatment, this can lead to a host of other health problems.

Symptoms of piles are Pain in anal region, Itching in anal region, Painful defection, Feeling of lump in the anus especially during straining, constipation, Bleeding (bright red) during or  after defecation.

Ayurveda provides best combination of effective herbal medicine. Modern medicines act  superficially by reducing the pain or decreasing the acidity in the stomach but that is not sufficient  to  treat  the  root cause . Thus  ayurveda  is  the  solution  as  it  cures  the  problem  by  going  to  the  root  cause .
